Miranda Lambert, in the face of public backlash, stands firm in her decision to address a fan during her residency in Las Vegas. While performing “Tin Man,” she interrupted the song to call out an audience member who was taking a selfie. Lambert expressed her frustration, stating, “These girls are more worried about their selfie than the song, and it’s pissing me off… We’re here for country music.”
The audience responded with applause as the fan quickly put her phone away. In a subsequent performance, Lambert highlighted another fan wearing a shirt that read, “Shoot tequila, not selfies,” humorously adding, “She did it, I didn’t!” This comment led to additional criticism, with some accusing her of shaming her fans.
Adela Calin, the fan involved in the selfie incident, shared her feelings of being belittled by Lambert’s remarks. She clarified that they had only taken a brief picture before returning to their seats and described the experience as akin to being reprimanded like a child. Calin expressed that she felt unfairly labeled as immature when they were merely attempting to capture a memorable moment.
